Tyndale Commentaries

The Tyndale Commentary Series has long been a trusted resource for Bible study. Written by some of the world's most distinguished evangelical scholars, each book offers clear, reliable, and relevant expositions.
 
This classic IVP resource is now being completely retypset and presented in a fresh, new large paperback format for the twenty-first century. All the volumes are being re-issued, and the process is due to be complete by spring 2009. Where two versions of a commentary are available, you have the option to order either - simply choose "old" or "new".

The introduction to each volume is a concise yet thorough description of the authorship, date, and historical background of the book under consideration. The commentary itself examines the text section by section, drawing out its main themes. It also comments on individual verses and deals with problems of interpretation.

The aim throughout is to get at the true meaning of the Bible and to make its message plain to readers today
